Corrupt Richmond Mayor in Drug Scandal

Well, April 1 is still a few weeks off, but here’s something substantially stranger than fiction. Independent filmmaker Thalia Dori will be showing “Toxic Energy Little Miss Potentiality Returns” on Tuesday, March 6th at 9:15 pm at the Parkway Speakeasy Theater, 1834 Park Boulevard, Oakland, CA 94606 (2006, 85 minutes. 16mm).

Here’s the plot: Why is the corrupt mayor of Richmond, California secretly creating an LSD-like drug that makes people dance naked? For her final project in her detective training course, Little Miss Potentiality returns to expose the Mayor’s illegal ties to the Richmond Chemical Plant and his secret plan.

Unfortunately, the Richmond City Council will presumably be in session during the screening but will undoubtedly find a way to create some equally thrilling drama of its own. We are hoping someone will attend to provide a full report on how the film portrayed the mayor of our fair city, whomever he or she may have been.

The movie, which features a musical score by Roddy Bottum, has an admission price of Admission: $3.00.
