  Richmond Farmers Market Marks 20th Anniversary

The Richmond Farmers Market Association celebrates Richmond Farmers Week September 13-17, 2004, to be culminated with an exciting program at the market on Friday the 17th from 12:00 PM to -3:00 pm. The public is invited. The Richmond Farmers Market is open every Friday morning in front of the Richmond Main Library.

 

The East Bay Center of the Performing Arts will be presenting music and entertainment reflecting the diversity of the community served by the market.  There will be performances by the East Bay Raging Grannies, Mien Legends, West African Music & Dance Ensemble, Son de la Tierra and Jazz Improvisations by Lloyd Gregory.

Rubicon Programs - ArtWorks show will have a display and items for sale.

 

Beautiful basket donated by Palacek will be filled with fresh produce from the growers and Rubicon cakes and raffled.

 

Kaiser Permanente will have nutritional information as well the County Health Department.  Many other community groups including the Richmond Emergency Food Pantry will have a sample of their food bags and donate one for raffle.

 

The event is free to all and has been made possible by generous donations from The Mechanics Bank and The San Francisco Foundation, the Community Foundation of the East Bay. Tom Cloman is President and Mary Otani is Chair of the 20th Anniversary Celebration.
