Next Up: Dirty Cello & The Mad Maggies!

It was great to see so many of you at our kick-off concert last month! Our free summer music series continues this Friday, August 12th with Dirty Cello and The Mad Maggies. These two amazing bands are return favorites you won't want to miss. The fun happens from 5:30pm to 8:00pm in historic downtown Point Richmond (Park Place between West Richmond and Washington Avenues).

Local restaurants offer a wide array of cuisines, and a rotating selection of food trucks pull up to each concert. Concert-goers can pair fine food with beverages served in biodegradable cups from PRM’s no host bar, with proceeds directly supporting the music series. Festival-style seating is available with a limited number of chairs provided, and concert-goers are encouraged to bring their own festival/lawn chairs.

PRM, an all-volunteer non-profit organization, produces the series in support of its mission to build community through the unifying language of music. Please visit www.pointrichmondmusic.org for more information.

Dirty Cello

5:30pm - 6:30pm  – Dirty Cello https://www.dirtycello.com/
From China to Italy, and all over the U.S., Dirty Cello brings the world a high energy and unique spin on blues and bluegrass. Led by vivacious cross-over cellist, Rebecca Roudman, Dirty Cello is cello like you’ve never heard before. From down home blues with a wailing cello to virtuosic stompin’ bluegrass, Dirty Cello is a band that gets your heart thumping and your toes tapping!

The Mad Maggies

6:45pm - 8:00pm – The Mad Maggies https://themadmaggies.com/
Hard to describe but easy to love, the Mad Maggies span world rock to ska, cajun/zydeco to rhythm & blues, klezmer to polka, to the high seas & beyond. The Mad Maggies are Maggie Martin, accordion and vocals, Johnny Blood, tuba, Ray Fernandez, saxophone, Ian Luke, drums, percussion, Mark Nemoyten, trumpet, Tim Starter, bass, Ned Stone, trombone, and Gary Wium, guitar.

Coming up later this summer:

Friday, September 9th
5:30pm - 6:30pm – Laurie Lewis https://laurielewis.com/
Grammy Award-winning musician Laurie Lewis is internationally renowned as a singer, songwriter, fiddler, bandleader, producer and educator. She was a founding member of the Good Ol’ Persons and the Grant Street String Band and has performed and recorded since 1986 with her musical partner, mandolinist Tom Rozum. Laurie has twice been voted International Bluegrass Music Award's Female Vocalist of the Year and has won the respect and admiration of her peers.

6:45pm - 8:00pm – Andre Thierry https://www.andrethierry.com/
Andrew Thierry is an exceptional, multi-dimensional musician with a finely honed ability to merge his accordions with musical mastery. Although born and raised in Richmond, California, Andre's French-Kreole heritage is deeply rooted in Louisiana. He embarked on a path with specific knowledge and extraordinary talents at a very young age. True to his culture and love of music, he has crafted a career well beyond his years as an artist. Andre's style isn't conventional; he and his accordions provide a signature sound by creating magnetic, sonic landscapes. The rhythmic songs drive an atmospheric blend, giving his band a powerful edge, naturally building a dedicated following through performing, touring, and a string of album recordings.
