Thanks to hard work by TRAC and City staff, the City of Richmond has received a $1 million grant under the Recreational Trails and Greenways Grant Program, Proposition 68, to construct the Bay Trail through Point Molate.

Unfortunately, no one will be able to use it because the Richmond Progressive Alliance (RPA) city council members, McLaughlin, Martinez, Jimenez and Willis, shot it down my agenda item to solicit open space managers by tabling it without debate. Point Molate remains largely fenced off and inaccessible to the public with the historic buildings of Winehaven continuing to deteriorate.
