Marina BayHERBAN
MOVEMENT
Happy Thanksgiving Week, Everyone!
Aside from bringing you events from around Richmond through the weekly newsletter through my internship, I am also involved with a student-run company called Herban Movement. Herban Movement is a Junior Achievement Company under Hercules High's Academy of Hospitality & International Tourism, and our aim is to give students business and marketing skills by managing a real company! We have been involved with events like the San Francisco Business Times Most Admired CEO Awards (where we met Larry Baer,CEO of the SF Giants, to the right!) and plenty of events with RCVB. You may remember us from The 3rd of July Celebration or The East Bay Home Show, where we sold our Herban Dishes Cookbook. We are proud to announce that we have started a new project inspired by California's new ban on plastic bags! Project Gaia is due for a December 2014 release!
Thank you everyone for your support!   -Joseph Fortuno

AssembleSALUTE E VITA

We invite you to get involved!
Every year on Thanksgiving Day  from 10:00 am - 3:00 pm Salute hosts a Thanksgiving dinner for needy families and those less fortunate living in Contra Costa County. In 2011 we fed 300 homeless men, women and children. In 2012 we served 600 homeless and needy families. Last year in 2013 we served over 1300 people! We also had a Health Fair providing Flu shots to everyone attending the event. In addition Salute gave a coupon to each family good for ten sandwiches and a cup of soup throughout the Holiday season.  This is our fourth year and we are proud to announce that  700 US Veterans from Contra Costa and Marine Counties will be among the many families that will enjoy a Thanksgiving meal at Salute.
All of us at Salute are proud to do whatever we can for our community and are overwhelmed by the enormous support and generosity from our loyal customers, neighbors, friends, families, and business associates in this effort to continue to make Salute's Thanksgiving Day Celebration a yearly event and excited to see how this will grow for many years to come.
Many of you have asked how you can support this event.  Your cash donation is very welcomed as well as volunteerism for the day or any items you would like to donate for the gift bags.  Your contributions will be used to support the event and items that will go into the goody bag given to each guest. The dinner will be exclusively provided by Salute. If you would like to volunteer for the day please contact Traci McWain at Salute on any Wednesday or Thursday in the months of September and October after 4:00 pm. Or you can email her at traci@salutemarinabay.com
Thank you to all of our many volunteers that helped to make this day happen. We express our utmost appreciation for your generous contribution.
With the help from GRIP we are now a 501 c 3 Charity , so all your donations are now tax deductible!
Donations should be made payable to: GRIP, "SALUTE THANKSGIVING CELEBRATION"
And sent to:
