Less trash talk: Richmond residents and businesses can now recycle these items
Richmond residents and businesses can now recycle these items

For the first time, Richmond residents and businesses can now recycle bundled plastic bags and all rigid plastic containers, including to-go containers and tubs, according to the city.
That means locals can save money on their trash bill, as recycling service is free.
Additionally, commercial businesses can now receive curbside compost service. Businesses are encouraged to call Richmond Sanitary Service to begin the green cart service, which will accept food scraps, food-soiled paper, and plant and yard debris. The compost pick-up will also reduce trash bills, the city said.
For more information, call Richmond Sanitary Service at (510) 262-7100.
