Description: http://images.patronmail.com/pmailemailimages/16/471092/photo_1.jpg

WEDNESDAY, JULY 3
Featuring
Oakland East Bay Symphony
at
The Craneway Pavilion

Free to the public

Inside the historic Ford Point Building on the waterfront in Richmond, the Oakland East Bay Symphony, the Craneway Pavilion and the City of Richmond will team up to host a patriotic, family-friendly celebration featuring live music, food and fireworks.
Schedule:
6:30pm:
Doors open. Live music begins featuring performances by Hilltop Community Church Choir and Oaktown Jazz Workshops.

8:00pm: Oakland East Bay Symphony concert conducted by Music Director Michael Morgan. Patriotic, spirited works to celebrate America's Independence Day, including a set of John Williams works celebrating that great American institution: the movies! Diablo Wind Symphony will join in for a set of Sousa marches.

9:15pm: The Grand Finale featuring patriotic music accompanying the City of Richmond's spectacular fireworks display over the water.

The evening will be hosted by KDFC radio's Dianne Nicolini.

Location:
The Craneway Pavilion is located at 1414 Harbour Way South in the Marina district of Richmond and can be accessed from the 580 freeway. Driving Directions

The wharf area and parking (general and premium available) open at 5:00pm, and the Pavilion will open at 6:30 p.m. Seating is limited and will be available on a first-come, first-served basis. Guests are encouraged to bring their own blankets and chairs.

Food and Beverage:
The Craneway will offer an Independence Day-themed concession menu. The adjacent restaurant, Assemble, will feature full-menu dining beginning at 5pm and remain open prior to and during the July 3rd event until 10:00pm. Reservations are highly recommended. Beer, wine and additional beverages will be available. Picnics are permitted. No outside liquor will be permitted.

Also on site is the new Rosie the Riveter/World War II Home Front NHP Visitor Education Center that opened on May 26th honoring the millions of women who worked for the Home Front. Many of these pioneering "Rosies" toiled in the historic Ford Assembly Building at Richmond's Ford Point. The Visitor Center will stay open until 8:00pm on July 3rd so that those attending the Target Independence Day celebration can spend time in the facility. Admission is free.
