Up Jumped Spring Macdonald Ave
The rainy and wet weather of winter has given way to sunny skies and warm Spring days. With the welcome change in weather comes a wonderful and challenging time for Richmond Main Street. So much to look forward to and so much great work ahead!
Richmond Main Street is embarking on an exciting season full of new programs and events designed to further our outcomes in crime prevention and beautification of downtown, business development, and the overall health of our community. Throughout this Spring season we will enhance our downtown storefronts

through another spectacular
Art In Windows display featuring local artists Virginia Jourdan, Malik Seneferu, and Ron Smith from the recent Richmond Art Center "Art of Living Black" exhibit. Don't miss a reception with the artists in the Richmond Main Street office on Friday,April 29 from 5:00-7:30pm.

Now is a great time for you to demonstrate your commitment to our efforts and support Richmond Main Street by becoming a friend of Main Street: volunteer, donate, sponsor events and programs, spread the word. As we struggle through the trials and tribulations of proposed budget cuts to the redevelopment agencies that support programs like ours throughout the state of California, we are confronting an enormous uphill battle. Yet, we are uniquely positioned to offer programs, services, and community events that boosts community development and invigorates small businesses.

Richmond Main Street is looking to engage new friends and rally our long-time supporters to stand tall with us in these uncertain times. We understand

The newly completed Nevin Avenue street scape is another step forward in revitalizing downtown.

that the state has serious budget constraints but we sincerely believe that committed investment in our towns is imperative to sustaining long-term positive changes and meaningful growth.

Summer will be here before we know it. Look for our signature events like the Music on the Main Summer Concerts, healthy activities in the Community "Green" Space on Habour Way and Macdonald Ave, and the Youth Entrepreneur Program. In conjunction with and support from the East Bay Center for Performing Arts we will introduce our Iron Triangle Legacy Project featuring Downtown Champions- Fred D. Jackson, Betty Reid Soskin, Joanne King, Janet Johnson, and Ramona Samuels in October.

Stay tuned, Stay energized, Stay involved. Help us keep pushing forward. Donate today!

 Sincerely,

Amanda Elliott
