Interested in Participating in Government?
Supervisor Gioia is Seeking Volunteers for County Advisory Boards

I’m looking for interested, motivated residents to serve on several Contra Costa County citizen advisory boards. These voluntary boards usually meet monthly and advise the Board of Supervisors on a variety of issues. They play a vital role in county government, and I’m grateful for the input they provide.

Applications are currently being accepted from residents of District 1 for seats on the following boards:  (District One includes Richmond, San Pablo, El Cerrito, El Sobrante, Kensington, Montalvin Manor, East Richmond Heights and Rollingwood.)

First 5, Children and Families Commission – Alternate Seat
Alcohol and Other Drugs Advisory Seat
County Aviation Advisory Board
Family and Children's Trust Committee
Library Commission
Mental Health Commission – Consumer Seat

El Sobrante Municipal Advisory Council (must live in unincorporated El Sobrante)
Kensington Municipal Advisory Council – alternate seat (must live in Kensington)
North Richmond Municipal Advisory Council (must live in N. Richmond)

For more information about each board go to the Contra Costa County website (www.co.contra-costa.ca.us) click on Board of Supervisors, then on Board Advisory Bodies. You'll find a scroll-down list with specifics on all County Advisory Boards, including a staff contact person. You'll also find an application that can be downloaded and printed.

You can also check on my website (www.cocobos.org/gioia) and click on the Community Advisory Boardslink to download an application.  Or, contact Kate Rauch in my office at 510-374-3231 or kate.rauch@bos.cccounty.us.
