Chevron Mounts Its Own Ballot Measure to Fight Utility Tax Fairness
March 25, 2010

I got a call from Chevron Refinery Manager Mike Coyle today alerting me that Chevron is mounting an effort to place its own ballot measure on the November 2010 ballot to neutralize the measure placed by the Richmond City Council to end Chevron’s unique option to pay an arbitrary lump sum utility user tax rather than the 10% paid by every other utility user in Richmond.

For information on the City Council proposal, see http://www.endchevronsperks.org/ and "End Chevron's Perk" campaign to start next week, January 8, 2010.

Coyle did not provide details. For more information, contact Mike Coyle at 510/242-4200.
