Recycling Pick Up Service for Seniors
February 3, 2010

The West Contra Costa Integrated Waste Management Authority (also known as RecycleMore) does offer a Mobile Household Hazardous Collection service, free of charge to West Contra Costa residents who are 60 years of age or older or disabled.  This service was first introduced as a temporary program that was funded by a grant from the California Integrated Waste Management Board nearly four years ago.  The program proved to be a much needed service for West County's senior and disabled population and was well received.  After the grant funding expired, the RecycleMore Board of Directors agreed that there should be a permanent program available, and approved the infrastructure necessary to make this a reality.

Qualifying persons may arrange for a pick-up appointment by calling 1-(888)-412-9277.  A complete list of accepted and unacceptable items will be mailed out along with instructions on how to prepare the items for pick-up. Television sets up to 30" are accepted for pick-up, with larger sets accepted for drop off only at the HHW Facility at 101 Pittsburg Avenue in North Richmond. This particular service is for residents of El Cerrito, Richmond, San Pablo, Hercules, Pinole, and El Sobrante only. Persons living outside of this jurisdiction, would need to contact their local agencies for information on programs offered in their area. For more information, contact:
