| Big Home Front Events Coming This Fall in
Richmond August 6, 2008 |
· Participate in the 2nd Annual Home Front Festival By the BayThe Planning Committee for the 2nd Annual Home Front Festival By the Bay has been working had for many months to bring you a bigger and better festival in 2008! This year the festival has been relocated to Lucretia Edwards Park on Marina Way South, and there is NO entrance fee. With so many activities happening there isn't space to list them all...here's a brief overview: Friday, October 3rd we bring back the very popular USO Dance, with music by "Junius Courtney Big Band" and a special appearance by the "Blue Stars" from the Hornet Museum. Saturday, October 4th the Festival opens at 11:00 with a Tule Reed Boat Launch. The Main Stage will be in the Ford Craneway on Saturday, with a great line-up of entertainers, culminating with our headliners - The Spinners! Sunday morning the YMCA once again will host the 5/10K Family Walk Run, details here; and the National Park Service will host the Home Front Workers Reunion in the Ford Craneway. Former Home Front Workers all over the United States are being invited to join us. We will have a children's area, a bistro, an entertainment stage for youth performers on Saturday, and new this year...a Carnival!
