Boston Ceasefire Team Visit

Gary French of the Boston Police Department, Reverend Jeff Brown of the Boston Ten Point Coalition, and Tracy Lithcutt of the Boston Streetworker program, were key partners in Boston’s Ceasefire initiative, a strategic partnership including the faith community, criminal justice agencies, and youth outreach organizations that dramatically reduced youth-related gun violence in Boston in the 1990’s and has been recently reinstituted with very significant early success.

As many of you are aware, the Office of Neighborhood Safety is employing a street outreach initiative and through the Richmond Community Wellness Collaborative, will be in partnership with other community based street outreach campaigns.

On April 8th, the city will be hosting the Boston group to hear the lessons learned from one of the country’s first citywide street outreach campaigns.
