Lynne Scarpa was named Watershed Forum Participant/Partner of the Year at the Contra Costa County Creek and Watershed Symposium for providing "unparalleled leadership and support to the Bioassessment Survey Program." "Ms. Scarpa and her teams of volunteers, including a group of environmental students from Richmond High School, have sampled the majority of sites in western Contra Costa County, enabling county staff to spend more time expanding the monitoring program in other regions. Without her involvement and dedication to the program, other volunteer groups would not have had the opportunity to become involved in our program."

The Watershed Forum Awards were presented at the third Quadrennial Contra Costa County Creek and Watershed Symposium, held in November in Walnut Creek.
