Holiday Events in Point Richmond

Even though you may not live in Point Richmond, you are invited to join Point Richmond residents, friends, congregations and businesses at the following holiday events:

 

  • Monday and Tuesday, November 19th & 20th:  The First United Methodist Church will be holding its holiday bake sale at the Point Richmond Community Center.  Stop by to pick up some awesome goodies!
  • Thursday, November 22, Thanksgiving Day, 10:00 AM - The annual Turkey Shoot, an irreverent and informal parade from The Plunge to the Spot Bar capped by a shot of Wild Turkey, a traditional poem and “gobble, gobble, gobble…”See 30th Annual Point Richmond Turkey Shoot! - Details >> and Celebrate Thanksgiving in the Point, November 22, 2006.
  • Thursday, November 22, Thanksgiving Day, 12:15 - 2:15 pm: All are welcome at the free village Thanksgiving Feast at the Methodist Church - Details >>. An interfaith service begins at 11:30 am followed by a Thanksgiving dinner from 12:15 to 2:15 p.m. If you are interested in volunteering or making a donation, please contact Christina de León at  510-669-1029 for more information. Your contribution to the Thanksgiving Feast would be greatly appreciated!
  • Saturday, November 24, 5:30 pm until 7 pm: Holiday Tree Lighting downtown - Music, Fun for the Kids, Refreshments and More - FREE!

·         The PRBA annual fundraiser and social at Hotel Mac plus Little Mary Sunshine at the Masquers - >. The PRBA annual fundraiser and social is at Hotel Mac at 6:00 pm,Thursday, November 29, Then 8 pm it's on to the Masquers for the musical "Little Mary Sunshine": "Will Mary be able to pay the mortgage" Will dashing Captain Jim hunt down the renegade? Will true love prevail? Come see this delightful spoof of operetta outrageousness, with fetching young ladies, dastardly villains, shining heroes, and last minute rescues. Tuneful music and comic antics for the whole family".  Dinner and theater: $40. Reservations: David Vincent (510) 235-4850. This fundraiser helps pay for the Holiday Tree Lighting, Saturday at 5pm November 24, Indian Statue Park.

·         Sunday, December 9, 7:00 p.m. - "Sounds of the Season" concert presented by members of Point Richmond's Masquers Playhouse at the Point Richmond United Methodist church (not at the theatre), suggested donation $10 to benefit the church.

·         Saturday, December 15, 5:00 pm: Carols Around the World Concert. Enjoy Christmas Carols and Advent Anthems with the El Sobrante UMC Choir and the First UMC Angel Choir and Joyful Noise Choir at First United Methodist Church, in a sparkling holiday setting, free will offering will be taken to support both churches.
