  Paint Up - Fix Up Assistance to Richmond Homeowners

There are several City-sponsored programs available to provide qualifying Richmond homeowners with low interest and no interest loans, grants, and other assistance to improve the quality of housing and to improve the appearance of the City. Four of these programs are described below:

 

Home Improvement Loan Program – Low interest loans to complete home repairs to bring homes up to decent safe and sanitary conditions and to improve the City’s overall housing stock. Programs include: amortized loans from 0% - 3% up to $35,000; deferred loans for senior and disables residents up to $20,000; emergency loans for up to $15,000 from 0% - 3% and residential rehabilitation loans matched at 50% and deferred for 10 years at 0% interest. Helping Hands Project – Minor home repair and maintenance assistance to low-income seniors and/or physically challenged residents. Contact Toni Bermudez or Ron Shaw at 510/215-3304.

 

Richmond We Care Paint Program – Will paint the exteriors of 50-60 homes of senior and disabled residents in target area neighborhoods of Coronado, Stege, Iron Triangle, North Richmond, Pullman and Santa Fe using youth ages 14-24. Contact Helen Nichols or Theresa Wilkerson at 510/307-814.

 

Downtown Cleanup Project – The objective is to maintain a clean downtown area from 7th Street to Richmond BART and from Macdonald Avenue to Barrett Avenue. Call 510/307-8015 for service.
