Richmond Bay Trail Bags Another Grant
September 20, 2002

On September 19, 2002, the Bay Area Air Quality Management District Board of Directors voted to award the City of Richmond a $100,000 Transportation Fund for Clean Air grant to help fill the one-mile gap in the Richmond Parkway Bay Trail past Peres School between Pennsylvania and Gertrude Avenues.  This award results from the Richmond Public Service Agency’s submission of another grant application prepared by TRAC (Trails for Richmond Action Committee).

The attached map from the cover page of the grant application shows the location of this major gap in the three miles of Class I Bay Trail already built along the Richmond Parkway between Cutting Blvd and Goodrick Avenue.

TRAC now is preparing an application under the State Recreational Trails Program seeking the $185,000 balance needed for this $520,000 project.
