Neighborhoods And Neighborhood Council Newsletters And Websites
May 14, 2002

Richmond neighborhoods are establishing themselves as sources of news and information to replace the traditional and truly local newspapers that no longer exist. Most neighborhood councils publish excellent newsletters. As a City Council member, I am fortunate to receive copies of all of them, including the newsletter of the Neighborhood Coordinating Council. Anyone who belongs to a neighborhood council (memberships are typically modest – around $5 annually) will receive the neighborhood council’s newsletter with postage paid by the City of Richmond.

In addition, many have websites that are updated constantly. Examples include:

Marina Bay Neighborhood Council: http://www.marinabaycouncil.com/

Point Richmond: www.pointrichmond.com and http://www.brickyardrealty.com/PRNC%20Agenda.htm

North and East: http://northandeast.org/

If I missed others, please let me know.
